Wednesday, May 25 – An armed attack against governor of Helmand province resulted in death of the assailant militants. Two assailants who wanted to assassinate the governor of Helmand province were killed by Afghan security forces on Tuesday.
According to sources of Helmand press office, the assailants attacked the vehicle of the governor Mohammad Gulb Mangal and the governor of Sangeen district in Pech Haji area.
The incident took place when Gul Mangal was returning after attending a meeting with governor of Sangeen district accompanied by military and civil authorities were going to Lashkarga city.
