Presidential candidate Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai emerges as the leading candidate in the upcoming presidential election, according to a new survey report.
ATR consulting which conducted a pre-election survey, revealed in its report that Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai is the leading candidate in upcoming presidential election.
According to the ATR survey report, Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai received the highest votes from the poll participants, while Dr. Abdullah Abdullah is the second most favorite candidate.
Around 26.9 percent of the poll participants voted for Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai as the favorite candidate, while 24.7 percent voted for Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the survey reveals.
Former Afghan foreign minister Dr. Zalmai Rasoul received 7.5 percent votes from the survey participants and secured the third position among the most favorite presidential candidates.
This is the second time Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai emerges as the leading candidate in pre-election survey.
Glevum Associates and its Afghan research partner AIRC in its survey report ‘Afghan Presidential Pre-Election National Opinion Survey Findings’ released late last year, revealed that Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzay currently has a 4-point lead over his nearest rival Doctor Abdullah Abdullah (29% compared to 25%, respectively).
The survey by Glevum Associates and its Afghan research partner ARIC was conducted in all 34 provinces of Afghanistan, with around 2,500 Afghans questioned about the upcoming elections.
