
An armed clash broke out between the armed robbers and police forces in western Herat province of Afghanistan leaving at least three dead or wounded.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) in a statement said Wednesday that the clash took place on Tuesday in Pashtun Zarghoon district.
The statement further added that the police forces launched an operation in pursuit of the armed thieves after receiving reports regarding that they had stolen a car.
According to MoI, one of the armed robbers was killed and another one was wounded after a clash broke out during the operation.
The statement by MoI also added that one police soldier has also sustained minor injuries during the exchange of fire with the armed thieves.
