The Aqina-Andkhoi railway was officially inaugurated in Faryab province on Thursday.
Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamdow had virtually participated in the ceremony.
Both of the leaders presented their remakes about the railway and as well as the new fiber-optic network and the energy projects.
The electrical energy project of a 500Kw line of electricity running from Aqina to Sheberghan and extension of 220Kw of electrical power line from Jawzan to Mazar-E-Sharif was also discussed.
Ghani called the project importuned for the development of the economy and expansion of bilateral relations.
“Friendship between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan is a valuable relationship for the government and citizens of Afghanistan,” Ghani said.
The 30-kilometer railway connects Aqina port with Andkhoi in Turkmenistan.
The length of the railway project reached 30 kilometers, connecting Agina port (Turkmenistan) to Adnkhoi (Afghanistan), and the project MoU was signed back in February 2019.
Earlier, the Herat-Khaf railway a major infrastructural project was inaugurated one month ago, this project is deemed vital and important both for Iran and Afghanistan.
