President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has said anyone picking arms against the government is an enemy and must be eliminated.
He made the remarks during his speech during the closing ceremony which was organized to review the performance of the Afghan Police Special Forces. “I am not one those who on one occasion calls them (militants) a friend and in the other day calls them (militants) an enemy since my definition of enemy is clear and their actions prove that they are enemies.”
Emphasizing that the government does not a want which is achieved from a weaker stance, President Ghani said peace is achieved by force and swords of the Afghan security forces and the government would never beg for peace in the presence of the armed forces.
He went on to explain that we want a peace with dignity, a peace which should ensure the presence of the armed forces as per the law as major investments have been made on security forces.
He also added that no one can look towards the Afghan armed forces with contempt since the armed forces are the guardian of the dignity and status of Afghanistan.
President Ghani said the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces are national, professional, and are non-political.
