The soldiers of the Afghan National Army (ANA) forces were deployed in Jalalabad city to help improve the security of the city after yesterday’s deadly attack on the provincial refugees and repatriation directorate.
The provincial government media office in a statement said the ANA soldiers have started search operations based on the instructions of governor Hayatullah Hayat.
The statement further added that the armed forces will have an equal approach towards all and anyone violating the laws would face strict actions.
According to the governor’s office, a unit of the Special Forces of the national police will also be deployed in Jalalabad city to help improve the security situation of the capital of Nangarhar.
This comes as President Ghani called for an emergency meeting after yesterday’s deadly attack that left at least fifteen dead including an IOM employee and fifteen others sustained injuries.
He said the Afghan army will work with the police forces to help improve the security of the province and the army forces will continue to assist with the security of the province until Special Units of the Police have been deployed.
