The security forces carried out airstrikes against Taliban militants in Kapisa and Ghazni provinces in the past 24 hours.

The informed military officials said Wednesday that an airstrike killed 2 Taliban militants in Nejrab district of Kapisa.

The officials further added that a similar airstrike killed 1 Taliban militant in Andar district of Ghazni.

The Taliban group has not commented regarding the airstrikes so far.

The security situation in Ghani and Kapisa provinces has deteriorated during the recent months.

Taliban militants are active in some districts of the two provinces and often conduct terrorist related activities.

Meanwhile, the Afghan forces routinely conduct counter-terrorism operations against the anti-government armed groups in the two provinces.

The U.S. forces also conduct regular airstrikes in restive parts of the country to suppress Taliban and other anti-government militants.
