
A series of airstrikes in northern Balkh province killed at least 45 Taliban militants including three of their shadow district governors.
The Ministry of Defense in a statement said Sunday the airstrikes were carried out in Sholgara district.
The statement further added that the airstrikes killed at least 45 Taliban militants.
Furthermore, the defense ministry said the airstrikes also killed 11 commanders of the Taliban group.
Meanwhile, the ministry of defense said three shadow district governors of the group for Charbolak, Sholgara and Chamtal were also among those killed.
