Airstrike kills Taliban fighter who was responsible for an attack on Afghan Special Forces

An airstrike was carried out in northern Faryab province leaving a Taliban fighter dead, the informed military sources said Thursday.

The sources further added that the slain Taliban militant was responsible for an attack on Afghan Special Forces.

“A strike in along Highway 1 killed a Taliban fighter who was responsible for an attack on Afghan Special Forces,” the sources said.

The military sources also confirmed that the 2nd Battalion of the 209th Brigade conducted successful ground operations in Balkh district of northern Balkh province killing 2 Taliban fighters, wounding 5 and capturing 2.

The Ministry of Interior had earlier reported that one of the most commanders of Taliban identified as Mullah Khadem was killed during a joint operation in Balkh province.

The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the two operations so far.
