Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has again announced his candidacy for the country’s presidential election.

Ahmadinejad delivered a speech on Sunday, June 2, after registering at the election headquarters of Iran’s Ministry of Interior, stating, “I am confident that the country’s issues are solvable.”

Meanwhile, the Associated Press has reported that Ahmadinejad’s registration significantly pressures Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Interestingly, Ahmadinejad’s candidacy was disqualified in the 2021 Iranian presidential election.

After registering for the presidential election, Ahmadinejad said in a press conference, “Observing the economic and livelihood conditions of the vast majority of people, which have deeply impacted their lives and seriously endangered the dignity, security, and honor of millions, takes away the patience and tolerance of any responsible person and deeply concerns every aware individual.”

During Ahmadinejad’s registration for the presidential election, several of his supporters were present around the Ministry of Interior in Fatemi Square, Tehran, holding Iranian flags.

This came after a tragic helicopter crashed on May 19, resulting in the death of high-ranking officials, including Raisi. The helicopter was en route to a remote area when it crashed due to technical issues, causing a major setback for the government.
