Nine members of the US Congress in a letter to the US secretaries of foreign affairs and Finance asked that the people of Afghanistan fought along the US in Afghanistan for two decades and now they are on the brink of starvation.

The letter said that the ongoing humanitarian crisis necessitates immediate action of the United States.

The members have said that they are not willing for the Taliban to get helped but added that there are still ways through which the US can directly help the Afghan people and prevent the economic collapse of the country.

The letters read, there are still approaches that will not legitimize the Taliban government but will help Afghan people get helped.

“18.4 million People in Afghanistan need urgent humanitarian aids and most of these people are on the brink of starvation that includes two million children.” Reads the letter.

In the letter, the region has been warned to be facing potential chaos of mass migration after the people leave Afghanistan due to economic crisis and lack of food.

About the terror groups, the letter further reads that the ongoing humanitarian situation will make the ground conducive for ISIS-K and that the terror group will get stronger in Afghanistan.

The congress members have also asked the Bide Administration to unfreeze Afghanistan’s assets to let Afghan teachers get paid and girls and boys go to schools.

They also asked Bide to support organizations that are willing to back and pay the salaries of Afghan teachers who have not been paid for months now.

In the meantime, the spokesman of Afghanistan’s foreign ministry Abdul Qahar Balkhi welcomed the plea for the release of Afghanistan’s fund and added that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan wants positive relations with all countries.
