Hampshire announced Thursday that Afghanistan’s Mujeeb Ur Rahman and New Zealand’s Colin Munro have been signed for the upcoming series.
Mujeeb will be available for the whole of the county’s T20 campaign and white-ball specialist opener Munro can play until he moves to the Caribbean Premier League in August, according to the officials quoted by AFP.
He is currently playing for Kings XI Punjab in the ongoing Indian Premier League matches.
Bowling a mixture of off-breaks, leg-spin and googlies, he has taken 35 wickets in 15 one-day internationals and two wickets in two international T20s.
Mujeeb is the second Afghan player to play in the upcoming T20 Blast after Rashid Khan who was signed for the same league in February.
The Sussex Cricket Club in a statement said in February Rashid Khan, the world’s second highest ranked T20 bowler, will play for Sussex Sharks in this year’s T20 Blast.
The statement further adds that the Afghan leg-spinner will be available for the first half of the tournament, subject to international clearance and visa approval.
