Afghanistan’s athlete Muhsen Rezaee won the gold medal in the +58kg category weight after beating his rivals from South Korea, Iran and Pakistan.

Mohsen Rezaee, an Afghan athlete, won the Gold Medal in the Asian Taekwondo Championships 2021 on Thursday.

He defeated his rival Kim Young-hwan from South Korea by scoring 21 over 12 and become the first-ever Afghan to won a medal at the competition.

An official confirmed that on the 24th round of the Asian Taekwondo Championships, 189 athletes from 21 countries participated.

Muhsan competed in the 58 kg weight category and defeated his rivals from Kuwait, Chinese Taipei and Pakistan.

Rezaee also competed with his rivals Kim Young-hwan from South Korea, who got a silver medal, Armin Hadipour from Iran and Haroon Khan from Pakistan, who got bronze medals.
