Afghanistan’s Abbas Karimi has won gold medal in U.S. Paralympics Swimming Para National Championships.
Karimi stormed to 50m freestyle and was crowned champions after defeating he defeated his rival rivals in the same category.
He is expected to appear in 50m crawl and 100m freestyle categories on Monday.
“Alhamdullah I becameU.S National Champion In 50m Freestyle,” Karimi said in a Facebook post after receiving the gold medal.
Karimi is a prominent Afghan Paralympic swimming athlete who started his career while he was only 14-year-old.
Currently residing in the United States, Karimi has managed to win medals in several international competitions in Afghanistan, Turkey, and the United States.
He managed to win two gold medals during separate competitions organize din the United States earlier this year. He had also won a gold medal in 2017 by winning first positions among the athletes from 18 countries.
