Afghanistan U-19 cricket team defeats Malaysia by 10 wickets

unnamedThe Afghanistan Under-19 national cricket team defeated Malaysia in their opening match of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Premier League on Sunday.

The Malaysian Under-19 cricket team set a target of 102 runs for the Afghanistan U-19s after they won the toss and elected to bat first.

On the bowling side, Rashid Aman took six wickets to help the Afghan bowlers restrict the Malaysian batsmen to 101 runs in 37th over of the game.

Afghan batsmen chased the given target in the 10th over the game with Hazratullah Zazai scoring 55 runs and Shahidullah 33 runs.

The man of the match status was given to Rashid Aman for scoring the highest runs in the game.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) Chief Executive Officer Dr. Noor Mohammad Murad welcomed the victory of the Afghan team in their opening match and said today’s victory was a sign that the Afghan U-19s are well prepared to win the ACC Premier League championship trophy.

The Afghan U-19s are expecting to face United Arab Emirates in their second match in ACC Premier League on Monday.
