Bagram prisoners release7Afghanistan will review the cases of 88 prisoners in Bagram prison, branded as dangerous by United States, a member of the panel to review the Bagram prisoners cases said.

Abdul Shakoor Dadras, a member of the review board, said they are waiting to receive documents and evidences regarding the 88 detainees in Bagram prison.

This comes as Afghan president Hamid Karzai met with the US senators in capital Kabul on Thursday, and ordered to review the cases of 88 prisoners, who are believed to be involved in major attacks against the Afghan and US forces.

President Karzai quoted in a statement released by presidential palace media office told US senators that the innocent prisoners must be released and the criminals should be tried based on the laws of Afghanistan.

US senator Lindsey Graham following his meeting with president Hamid Karzai, told repoters that the release of the dangerous prisoners will have a negative impact on the future relationshipment between the American people and Afghan government.

“The 88, to me, represent a defining moment in our relationship,” Graham quoted by AFP said, adding that the jailed men were responsible for over 60 NATO coalition and 57 Afghan deaths.
