Afghan Foreign Affairs Ministry criticized the recent meeting of the US congress members with the Afghan opposition leaders where a change of the current political system was dicussed during the meeting.
Foreing Affairs Ministry spokesman Janan Mosazai on Monday told reporters decisions by foreigners is considered to be interference in Afghan internal affairs.
Mr. Mosazai said, “As mentioned before only Afghans have the right to comment and/or object the Afghan government and this right has been given to opposition parties to provide their recommendations, views and plans in order to improve the political system and democracy in the country. We condemn interference of foreigners in internal affairs of Afghanistan.”
This comes as a number of the National Coalition Party met with the US congress members on Sunday where Afghan opposition leaders emphasized for ammending the current political system before NATO troops leave Afghanistan in 2014.
Afghan opposition leaders and US congress members also criticized the Afghan government for the corruptions and said the main issue of Afghanistan is the current political system which is needed to be ammended.
The leaders emphasized to turn Afghanistan into a parliamentarian political system.
In the meantime US embassy in Afghanistan following a statement said the meeting between the US congress members and Afghan opposition leaders was a personal gathering and the meeting does not represent the views of Washington in Afghan affairs.
According to reports this is the second time that Afghan opposition leaders meet with the US congress members during the recent months.
Afghan National Coalition members also empasized they have the right to meet with the foreign nations and groups to discuss the situation of Afghanistan.
