The Independent Human Rights Commission of Afghanistan (AIHRC) announced Saturday that rape cases of children has increased by 28 percent this year.
AIHRC released its annual report on Children condition in Afghanistan and said that the main motive behind increased rape of children in the country was due to corruption in the judicial institutions of the country.
Seema Samar, head of the Independent Human Rights Commission of Afghanistan said that the convicts of child rape cases are not tried for their crime, and are even freed after they are arrested by police, due to corruption in the judicial insitutions of the country.
In the meantime, the Independent Human Rights Commission expressed concerns regarding the addiction of nearly 300,000 children to drugs in Afghanistan.
AIHRC in its report said that nearly 51,000 children are used as labor in Afghanistan, and are even invovled in severe works which are beyond the ability of the children.
The report also added that the use drugs by family elders and family members, are the main motive behind the addiction of children to drugs.
The report is based on interviews of nearly four thousand children in 27 provinces of country.
