The Afghanistan President’s office is highly under the public pressure over the order of luxurious food which includes multiple types of meat worthing over 60 million Afghanis.
According to leaked documents of the National Procurement Authority, 18 types of meat worthing at least 63,940,540 Afghanis have been proposed to the committee for approval.
These documents were made public by Khan Agha Rezayee, Chairman of National Security Committee of Parliament on Tuesday.
Rezayee claimed that Administrative Offices of the President (AOP) had previously proposed 17 types of meat to the Office of the President.
Earlier Rezayee, blew the whistle on $30 million worth of vegetables, that were contracted for AOP.
The claim caused a great deal of controversies in the social media, but AOP denied the allegations.
According to the NPA document the estimated price for the purchase of 18 types of meats were 70,448,880 AFN and the maximum is 84,538,656 Afghanis but the proposed bidding price for this project was AFN 63,940,540.
The list includes 71,544 Kg of lamb and mutton meat including fats, 20,952 kg of beef – The types of meats from different parts of the animals are on lists.
30 kg of Turkey meat, 360 kg of partridge meat, 1920 kg of quail meat, 2400 kg of fleet fish, 600 kg of thornless fish, 600kg of Chicken sausages, 120 kg of beef sausages, 1200 kg of bull meat, 120 kg of Liver, 550 kg of organic chicken meat, and 96,681 kg of farm slaughtered chicken, etc.
Abdulhadi Arghandiwal the ex minister of finance who were recently sacked by the President said he was the only one to criticize the deal, which eventually led to the cancellation of the contract.
