Afghan Foreign Affairs Ministry officials extremely denied allegations by Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rahman Malik who said that Afghanistan is supporting a prominent Pakistani Taliban leader.
Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said elements of the Afghan government are supporting a senior Pakistani Taliban leader who is fighting to topple the Islamabad government.
Pakistan has repeatedly called on Afghanistan to hunt down Fazlullah, whose fighters cross the border in their hundreds, set up ambushes and attack army checkpoints.
“If somebody is living in somebody’s house and you ask him `who is giving you food, who is giving you all this shelter?’ You know he is in Afghanistan,” Interior Minister Rehman Malik told Reuters in a weekend interview.
Rehman Malik also said Mullah Fazlullah is as much dangerous to Islamabad as Haqqani Network is to the Afghan government.
However Afghan foreign affairs ministry spokesman Janan Mosazai denied allegations by Pakistani interior minister Rehman Malik.
Janan Mosazai said Pakistani officials are looking to distract international attention from militants sanctuaries based inside the Pakistani soil.
