Afghanistan defeats Zimbabwe in 3rd ODI to lead the series 2-1

The Zimbabwe national team elected to bat first after winning the toss during the third match played in Sharjah of the United Arab Emirates.

Zimbabwe all its wickets during the 34th over of the game by setting a target of 154 runs only with Rashid Khan once again shining on the bowling side for Afghanistan.

He took 5 wickets from 8.3 overs and by giving only 24 runs to restrict the Zimbabwe team along with the other bowlers including Mujeeb Ur Rahman who took 3 wickets.

Dawlat Zadran and Gulbaddin Naib also managed to take one wicket each on the bowling side.

The Afghan batsmen managed to chase the given target easily despite the losing the opening batsmen Mohammad Shahzad and Ihsanullah at the initial overs of the game.

However, Rahmat Shah and Nasir Jamal’s half centuries helped the Afghan team to chase the given target at the 27th over of the game.

With yesterday’s victory in the third game, the Afghan national team leads the series 2-1 while the fourth game is expected to be played on Friday.
