Played in Harare in Zimbabwe, the Ireland national cricket team won the toss and elected to bat first but the Afghan bowlers shined well once again and managed to restrict Ireland to 209 runs from 50 overs.

Rashid Khan once again performed well in today’s match and managed to take 3 wickes from 10 overs and by giving 40 runs while Dawlat Zadran took 2 wickets from 10 overs against 54 runs.

Afghanistan’s former skipper and all-rounder Mohammad Nabi also took one wicket from 9 overs on the bowling side.

On the batting side, the Afghan team managed to chase the given target during the 49th over of the game and by losing five wickets only.

Despite poor performance in the previous games, Mohammad Shahzad performed well in today’s match although he was on the verge of losing his wicket during the initial overs of the game.

Shahzad hit 2 sixes and 6 fours from 50 balls to score 54 runs while Gulbadin Naib scored 45 runs along Rahmat Shah who scored 12 runs.

Samiullah Shinwwari also performed well and scored 27 runs while Mohammad Nabi scored 12 runs, Asghar Stanikzai 39 runs along with Najibullah Zadran who scored 17 runs.

The Afghan team managed to qualify for the ICC World Cup with today’s win by having 6 points in the Super Sixes group along with West Indies which has eight points.
