Afghanistan defeats IrelandThe Afghanistan National Cricket Team defeated Ireland by 39 runs during the second match of the One Day International (ODI) series.

Afghanistan set a target of 251 runs by losing all wickets during the 49.2 overs of the game after Ireland won the toss and elected to field first.

Mohammad Shahzad scored 66 runs, Javed Ahmadi 29 runs, Rahmat Shah 14 runs, Samiulllah Shenwari 24 runs, Najibllah Zadran 50 runs, Moammad Nabi 5 runs, Dawlat Zadran 7 runs, Mirwais Ashraf 12 runs, Rashid Khan 18 runs, Shapoor Zadran 2 runs, while Asghar Stanikzai could not make any run.

The Ireland batsmen could not chase the given target and lost all their wickets during the 48.2 overs of the game by scoring 211 runs.

Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan took 3 wickets each while Dawlat Zadran and Mirwais Ashraf took 2 wickets each to restrict the Ireland batsmen before they manage to chase the given target.

The first ODI match between Afghanistan and Ireland was abandoned without a ball bowled on Sunday due to heavy rainfall which prevented the match to kick off.
