Afghanistan defeats Hong Kong by 66 runs in Asia Cup qualifier match

Afghan batsmen set a target of 179 runs after Hong Kong won the toss and elected to field first.
Opener Mohammad Shahzad scored 24 runs from 14 balls and by hitting 3 Fours and 1 Six while Noor Ali Zadran could not stay longer after he was caught in Chapman’s ball after scoring 9 runs.
But Asghar Stanikzai continued to help the Afghan team build a satisfactory target and scored 49 runs from 35 balls, he hit 3 Sixes and 4 Fours.
Karim Sadiq scored 10 runs, Mohammad Nabi 1 run, Gulbadin 0 runs, while Dawlat Zadran remained not out by scoring 13 runs together with Najibullah Zadran who scored 60 runs from 35 balls.
The Hong Kong batsmen opened their innings aggressively and with Anshuman scoring 41 runs, KD Shah 29 runs and Babar Hayat 18 runs.
However, their middle order batsmen could not keep the momentum and were all out during the 17th over of the game.
Mohammad Nabi took 4 wickets, DAwlat Zadran and Rashid Khan 2 wickets and Shapoor Zadran 1 wicket to restrict the Hong Kong batsmen to 112.
