Afghanistan defeats Bangladesh in final T20I to clinch series 3-0

The Afghanistan national cricke team defeated Bangladesh in the third and final match of the bilateral Twenty20 International (T20I) series to clinch the series 3-0.

Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first in the final match of the 3-game series and elected to bat first.

They set a target of 146 runs for Bangladesh from 20 overs and by losing 6 wickets with Samiullah Shenwari scoring 33 runs from 28 overs to remain the highest scorer on the batting side for Afghanistan.

Mohammad Shahzad scored 26 runs, Usman Ghani 19 runs, Asghar Stanikzai 27 runs, Mohammad Nabi 3 runs, Najibullah Zadran 15 runs, Shafiqullah 4 runs, while Rashid Khan scored one run.

The Bangladesh team put on display a good effort as they were chasing the 146 runs target and despite losing the key batsmen during the initial overs of game.

However, they fell short to chase the target and lost the game with a difference of 1 run.

Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, and Mujeeb Ur Rehman each took one wicket on the bowling side while three wickets of Bangladesh fell due to run outs.

This comes as Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh by 45 runs during the opening game of the series and managed to manage to score the second consecutive win in the second game by 6 wickets.

The Bangladesh batsman and wicket keeper Mushfiq ur Rahim won the man of the match award for his outstanding batting performance. He scored 46 runs from 37 balls.
