The Afghanistan national cricket team lost their second match in ICC Cricket World Cup against Sri Lanka on Sunday.
Afghanistan set a target of 233 runs from 49.4 overs after Sir Lanka won the toss and elected to field first.
Afghanistan lost all its wicket during the last over of the match with Asghar Stanikzai scoring the highest runs, 54 runs from 57 balls.
Samiullah Shemwari scored 38 runs, Mirwais Ashraf 28 runs while opener Javed Ahmadi scored 24 runs from 23 balls.
This is the first time Afghanistan is participating in ICC cricket World Cup which is played in One Day International (ODI) format.
Despite losing the opening batsmen in the first and second over of the match, the Sri Lankan middle order batsmen performed well and chased the given target with 10 balls remaining.
DPMD Jayawardene scored 100 runs from 120 balls, AD Mathews 44 runs adn NLTC Perera remained not out after scoring 47 runs from 32 balls.
Afghanistan lost its opening match against Bangladesh on 18th February and the Afghan team is expected to face Scotland on 26th February.
