The Afghanistan national cricket team broke its own record for most consecutive Twenty20I wins by securing victory against Bangladesh in a Tri-Series on Sunday.

The Afghan team defeated Bangladesh by 25 runs in Dhaka on Sunday night, registering its 12th consecutive T20I victory since February 5th 2018.

Afghanistan was holding the previous record of the most successive T20I victories when they registered 11 T20I wins from March 27 of 2016 to March 12 of 2017.

The Afghanistan cricket team set a target of 165 runs after winning the toss and electing to bat first in the 3rd match of the Tri-Series on Sunday night.

Mohammad Nabi and Asghar Afghan made huge contribution after the Afghan team lost its opening and top order batsmen in the initial overs of the game.

Nabi remained not out after scoring 84 runs from 54 balls and Asghar Afghan scored 40 runs from 37 balls.

However, Bangladesh could not chase the given target and lost all their wickets by scoring 139 runs from 19.5 overs.
