Pakistan’s Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani has said the Afghan war cannot be won without the support of Pakistan.
Speaking at Pakistan’s National Assembly, Mr Gilani said Pakistan was part of the solution.
Pakistan is part of the solution of the Afghan issue. The Afghan war cannot be won without the support of Pakistan, Mr Gilani has said.
Pakistan has often been accused of not being serious in the war against terrorism.
“Pakistan has always been a part of the problems in Afghanistan, that’s why it wants to take the lead role in all Afghan issues related to war and peace,” Mir Ahmad Joyenda, member of Afghanistan Research and Evaluation Unit in Kabul, said.
He said Pakistan always seeks ways to pretend that the Afghan issues cannot be solved without Pakistan.
About US drone attacks in Pakistan, Mr Gilani said diplomatic channels were being used to push the United States to end drone attacks in Pakistan.
He said the US drone attacks unite the tribal people with militants and it creates problems for the government because Pakistan needs the support of the people to win the war against terrorism.
Mr Gilani said that the leadership of Pakistan and Afghanistan believed that the drone attacks were not in favour of their countries.

Right, we need to invade pakistan and have ops there, since the pakis are not doing squat to rid the Talibans.
