Afghan spin sensation shined in the opening match of Australia’s Big Bash League and was awarded the Player of the Match after Adelaide Strikers won their first match of the league against Brisbane Heat.
Played in Brisbane of Australia, Adelaide Strikers won the toss and elected to field first.
The Brisbane Heat team started batting and lost all their wickets by scoring 146 runs from 19.4 overs.
However, the Adelaide Strikers team managed to chase the given target during the first ball of the last over and sealed victory by 5 wickets against Brisbane Heat.
Rashid Khan managed to take 3 wickets from 4 overs and was elected as the Player of the Match for his economic bowling.
Mujeeb Ur Rehman was the other young Afghan cricketer who also appeared in BBL’s opening match. The young spin sensation could not take any wicket but managed to score 27 runs from just 22 balls on the batting side.
