The Afghan Special Forces stormed another Taliban prison in south-eastern Ghazni province of Afghanistan.

The Special Operations Corps of the Afghan Military said the Special Forces of the military rescued 9 people from the prison.

The Afghan Special Forces conducted the operation late on Monday night in the restive Geru district of Ghazni.

According to Special Operations Corps, the Special Forces rescued nine people from the prison including five security personnel and four civilians.

The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the operation so far.

This comes as the security situation in some districts of Ghazni province has deteriorated during the recent months.

Taliban militants are active in remote and restive areas of the province.

In the meantime, the Afghan forces are busy conducting counter-terrorism operations against both groups in this province.

Similarly, the U.S. forces also conduct regular airstrikes in restive parts of the country to suppress Taliban and other anti-government militants.
