The Afghan Special Forces detained three Taliban militants and destroyed a weapons cache in Faryab and Logar operations.

The military officials said Tuesday that Special Forces conducted a raid in Kharwar district detaining 3 Taliban fighters and destroying a large Weapons cache.

The officials further added that the Special Forces conducted an operation in Tagab district and destroyed a small weapons cache.

The Taliban group has not commented regarding the operations so far.

The security situation in Faryab and Logar provinces has deteriorated during the recent years.

Taliban militants are active in some districts of the two provinces and often conduct terrorist related activities.

Meanwhile, the Afghan forces routinely conduct counter-terrorism operations against the anti-government armed groups in the two provinces.

The U.S. forces also conduct regular airstrikes in restive parts of the country to suppress Taliban and other anti-government militants.
