Afghan Special Forces arrest one of the most prominent leaders of ISIS in Pul-e-Khumri city

The Afghan Special Forces arrested one of the most prominent leaders of ISIS terrorist group in Pul-e-Khumri city, the provincial capital of Baghlan province.

The National Directorate of Security (NDS) in a statement said the NDS Special Forces arrested Abdul Jamil son of Mawlana Juma Khan, the recruitment chief of ISIS terrorist in Pul-e-Khumri city.

The statement further added that Jamil was actively involved in preparing suicide bombing vests and improvised explosive devices.

Furthermore, the National Directorate of Security said Jamil lost his son and other relatives in a premature IED explosion in 2016.

He recruited his nephew into ISIS ranks last year who carried out a suicide attack in Herat city mosque.

Meanwhile, the National Directorate of Security said the Afghan Special Forces also confiscated some IED making equipment and other military kits from the house of Jamil.

The National Directorate of Security also added that the Special Forces arrested Syed Mehrabuddin son of Syed Meraj who was running a shop in Pul-e-Khumri city and was planting magnetic bombs in the vehicles.

The statement by National Directorate of Security also added that the Special Forces also arrested three other Taliban and ISIS militants who were involved in explosion and terrorist attacks in Baghlan province.
