The Afghan Special Forces arrested a key member of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group in northern Baghlan province.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) in a statement said Thursday that the ISIS group member was arrested during an operation which was conducted by the Special Forces of the Afghan National Police in Baghlan Markazi district.

The statement further added that an Ak-47 assault rifle, 9 mobile phones and laptop computer were also confiscated during the same operation.

The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the operation so far.

The military sources had earlier reported that 4 Taliban militants were killed and 5 others were wounded in an operation of the Afghan Special Forces in the same district.
