President Barack Obama during the month of January confirmed that US drone aircraft have struck Taliban and al-Qaeda targets within Pakistan – operations that until now had not been officially acknowledged.
According to France Press, at least 45 strikes were carried out during the year of 2009 which increased to 101 strikes during the year of 2010 while 64 strikes were carried out during the year of 2011.
