
Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry said that acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi met with Qatar’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Shiekh Abdurahman Al-Thani in the Qatari capital Doha.
Spokesperson of the Ministry Abdul Qahar Balkhi in a Twitter post said that the sides discussed the contract of management of Afghanistan’s airports.
Afghanistan’s delegation included Minister of Mines and Petroleum Shahabudin Delawar and Minister of economy Din Muhammad. The Afghan and Qatari FMs agreed on the continuation of meetings as such.
The economic and educational sectors were among those discussed during the meeting.
Afghanistan’s five airports including Kabul International Airport are supposed to be handed over to Qatar and Turkey to be administered.
The agreement between the three countries is close to being finalized.
Amir Khan Muttaqi is busy visiting Foreign Ministers in the Qatari capital Doha and is due to travel to China to take part in the meeting of Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministers on Afghanistan.
