The Independent Election Commission of Afghanistan has informed regarding the likely postponement of presidential elections for another three months.
A spokesman of the Independent Election Commission Abdul Aziz Ibrahimi said the commission is currently working on some schemes regarding the upcoming elections.
Ibrahimi further added that the presidential elections, parliamentary elections in Ghazni, and district council elections would likely be held three months later from the date which was previously considered.
The election officials had earlier said that the presidential elections would likely be conducted on 20th of April.
In the meantime, Ibrahimi said the Independent Election Commission is also considering recommendations for the postponement of presidential elections.
However, he added that no final decision has been in this regard so far.
