The Afghan security forces arrested an office of the Afghan National Police (ANP) forces in connection with the killing of his three comrades.

Abdul Karim Yurish, a spokesperson for Samangan government, confirmed that the security forces arrested the police office after almost three months.

He said the detained officer opened fire on his comrades and killed at least three of them during an insider attack in Almar district.

Hailing from Pashtun Kot district, the detained officer joined Taliban ranks after killing his three comrades, according to local officials.

Meanwhile, Yurish said the security forces managed to arrest the perpetrator during an operation which they conducted in Ghor province together with the local forces.

According to Yurish, the security forces handed over the perpetrator to the judicial authorities where his case is being reviewed.

The Taliban group has not commented in this regard so far.
