Afghan police in hunt for Chinese citizens murder suspects, Sediqi

24July2013Minister1Afghan interior ministry officials on Monday announced that an investigation has been launched regarding the murder of three Chinese citizens in capital Kabul.

Sediq Sediqi, spokesman for the interior affairs ministry said that a search operation has been launched to detain those involved behind the death of the Chinese citizens.

Unknown gunmen on Thursday attacked a house in Qala-e-Fatullah area of Kabul city, and killed three Chinese citizens, and took two others with them.

In the meantime, interior ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqi said that another Chinese citizen has been detained in connection to the death of the three Chinese citizens.

This comes as the embassy of China in Kabul earlier said that one of the two Chinese citizens who were missing following the attack was found, and was taken to a safe place.

china is one of the major foreign investor in Afghanistan, and some of the major Chinese companies have invested in major mining projects in the country, including Aynak copper mine and fuel extraction in northern Afghanistan.
