A number of the Afghan government opposition leaders including Ahmad Zia Massoud Chief of the National Coalition, Abdul Rashid Dostum Leader of the National Islamic Movement of Afghanistan, Mohammad Mohaqiq Leader of the Islamic Unity Party of Afghanistan, Amrullah Saleh Former Chief of Afghan Intelligence (National Directorate for Security) met with the senior congress members of the United States of America and discussed the issues of Afghanistan.
Afghan leaders met with US congress members at Berlin city in Germany and emphasized for a decentralized political system in Afghanistan.
The delegation of the US congress members included Dana Rohrabacher senior member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Loouie Gohmert, Steve King and Loretta Sanchez.
Faizullah Zaki a spokesman for the National Movement of Afghanistan said, the delegation of the Afghan opposition leaders following a statement during their visit in Berlin said that a centralized political system is the main motive behind an increased corruption, instability and growing distance between the Afghan government and Afghan people.
The delegation following their statement urged to start talks for reconsideration of Afghan constitution in a bid to form a decentralized political system in Afghanistan.
Afghan government opposition leaders also emphasized that the political should be in a way that should be welcomed by Afghan society.
Afghan government yet to comment regarding Afghan opposition leaders meeting with the US congress members however a non-governmental organization, Center for Strategic Studies has expressed concerns in this regard.
In the meantime, Faizullah Zaki a spokesman for the National Movement Party of Afghanistan said, the Berlin session was organized to indicate the views by Afghan government opposition leaders to International Community.
