Number of foreign troops killed by Afghan pilot rises to eight.

KABUL, Afghanistan – Defense Ministry said, on Wednesday an Afghan Army officer opened fire on foreign troops after an argument at the airport in capital Kabul. The incident took place around 11 a.m. and a number of people were killed and wounded. Sources at the scene have reported that foreign troops were also seen among the dead.

The gunman, an Afghan military pilot was killed in the cross fire and the incident has taken place inside a facility used by the Afghan Air Force. Gen. Mohammad Zahir Azimi said.

Azimi said, the officer has been military pilot for the past 20 years and he opened fire on the foreign troops after argument happened between the two parties and we have to investigate that.

The gunman was Ahmad Gul, a 50 year old pilot from Tarakhil district of Kabul province. Said by an Afghan pilot.

Taliban has claimed the responsibility saying they are behind the attack but authorities deny the insurgents involvement.
