Afghanistan mediaThe Afghanistan media and civilian society will defy Taliban threats and will continue to their activities, the NAI organization which supports open media in Afghanistan said.

The remarks were followed shortly after Taliban group released a statement, warning that the media agencies and civil society organizations would be targeted by the group as part of their offensive.

The statement further added that the group will use all possible ways to carry out the attacks.

The group said certain individuals are trying to promote the western culture in Afghanistan who have been enlisted by the military wing of Taliban and will be targeted one by one.

However, the head of the NAI organization, Mujeeb Khelwatgar has said that security institutions have assured that such threats would not prevent the media agencies and civil society organizations from their activities.

Khelwatgar told reporters that the security istitutions have pledged more support to reporters and civil society activists following the release of the Taliban group statement.

He insisted that the media agencies will continue to their activities along with the civil society activists despite the insurgency activities have been rampant this year.

According to Khelwatgar, the Taliban militants have proven their inhumane mentality by issuing such a statement.
