According to local authorities in southern Helmand province, at least 2 Afghan local police service members were killed by unknown gunmen in this province.
The officials further added, the incident took place on Tuesday afternoon at Lashkargah city of southern Helmand province.
Mohammad Ismail Hotak Deputy of the provincial police coordination in southern Helmand province said, the two local police service members were killed after unknown gunmen opened fire on them.
No group including the Taliban militants have so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
In the meantime Afghan intelligence officials in western Farah province on Tuesday announced, at least 15 armed militants were detained by Afghan intelligence forces in this province.
According to a press release issued by Afghan Intelligence Department (National Directorte for Security), the detained militants were plotting insurgency attacks in Bala Bolok district of western Farah province.
The detained militants confessed to their crimes and said they were receiving commands from the Taliban group to carry out insurgency attacks, officials said.
Taliban militants group yet to comment regarding the reports.
