Several Afghan civilians were killed by Afghan local police forces – Afghan militia forces in northern Kunduz province on Sunday.
A local security official speaking on the condition of anonymity said at least 15 Afghan civilians were killed following the incident.
The incident took place in Nom village at central city of northern Kunduz province on Sunday morning.
In the meantime another security official speaking on the condition of anonymity said the clashes started after a local police officer was killed.
He said local police forces accused Afghan villagers for the death of the local police officers and opened fire on them.
Deputy provincial governor Hamidullah Danishi confirmed the report however he did not disclose further information regarding the casualties.
He said the clashes are still going on in the area.
This comes as earlier reports suggested that a number of Afghan militia forces – local police forces were killed following a following an explosion in this province.
A local security official speaking on the condition of anonymity said at least 10 Afghan local police forces that were killed following the incident have been taken to the hospital so far.
The source further added the incident took place following heavy clashes between militants and Afghan local police forces.
He said there are fears of heavy casualties to Afghan local police forces.
There were no local police in Kunduz, there is only national police there. It was insurgents that killed two people and then the residents took arms against the insurgents.

The Afghan local police have been known to commit many atrocities including rape, murder, theft and robbery.
This was basically perpetrated by this brutal Local police to kill innocent Pukhtoons in revenge for their 2 killed by the Taliban,
