Afghan intelligence foil suicide car bombing plot in Uruzgan

National Directorate of Security (NDS) following a statement said a suicide bomber was arrested was arrested by Afghan intelligence operatives in connection to the attack plot.

The statement further added that the suicide bomber was looking to carry out the attack using a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) in Tarinkot city.

Afghan intelligence operatives discovered a weapons and explosives cache in a separate operation in Hesa-e-Awal Kohistan district of eastern Kapisa province.

NDS said the weapons and explosives cache included 6 AK-47 rifles, 1 RPG-7 rocket launcher along with its 7 rockets, 1 M16 rifle, 1 pistol and various other types of ammunition and explosives.

The statement by NDS also added that the Afghan intelligence officials have launched further investigations in connection to the bombing plot and discovery of weapons and explosives cache.
