Afghan intelligence — national directorate of security (NDS) on Tuesday announced Afghan security forces foiled coordinated explosions near United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) compound in southern Helmand province of Afghanistan.
The national directorate of security (NDS) following a statemetn said terrorist groups were looking to carry out coordinated explosions near the UNAMA compound, located in a busy area in Lashkargah city.
The statement further added the terrorist groups were looking to carry out attacks using two motorcycles packed with heavy explosives, and were parked near the UNAMA compound.
According to NDS officials, Afghan security forces thwarted the attack by arresting the suspected militant along with the two motorcycles packed with explosives.
In a separate operation, Afghan NDS forces seized 3 heavy machine guns, 9 AK-47 rifles along with it’s 24 magazines, 7 GPS equipment, and 4 communication equipments from Nad-e-Ali and Greshk distrits.
