Afghan intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) announced Tuesday that coordinated attacks were foiled by Afghan security forces in capital Kabul.
NDS spokesman, Gen. Farid told reporters in capital Kabul Tuesday that militants had plotted to carry out 9 suicide attacks and explosion in Kabul city.
Gen. Farid further added that Afghan security forces also detained 22 militants belonging to Haqqani terrorist network, Taliban group and Quetta council, during the operations in Kabul.
He said deputy shadow governor of the Taliban group, Mullah Hedayat and Taliban group’s shadow district governor Abdul Halim were also arrested by Afghan security forces.
Accoridng to Gen. Farid, the militants were also looking to carry out missiel attacks on Afghan presidential palace, Afghan defense ministry and Kabul International airport.
Anti-government armed militant groups yet to comment regarding the reports.
