The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces have foiled militants bid to detonated two improvised explosive devices in capital Kabul.

The Kabul Police Headquarters in a statement said the improvised explosive devices were planted under a culvert and on a roadside in Syedan Burj-e-Surkh area of Chahar Asiab district of Kabul.

The statement further added that the Afghan security forces managed to discover and defuse the two improvised explosive devices before the anti-government militants manage to detonate them.

The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented in this regard so far.

Taliban militants and other militant and terrorist groups often use improvised explosive devices as the weapon of their choice to target the security and government personnel.

However, in majority of such attacks ordinary civilians are targeted.
