The Afghan forces repulsed a Taliban attack on Gurziwan district of Faryab province in North of the country.

The 209th Shaheen Corps said in a statement the Taliban militants led by Makhdoom Aalim, the military commission chief of Taliban, launched an attack on Gurziwan district.

However, the 209th Shaheen Corps said the Afghan forces effectively responded to the attack killing 3 militants and wounding 6 others.

The statement further added that the security forces also killed Sheikh Zakaria and Mullah Mohammad, the two local commanders of Taliban.

The Taliban group has not commented in this regard so far.
