A vehicle full of explosives which were planned by the Taliban militants to target the police headquarters in Dawlatbad district of Balkh province, a local official said.

Adil Shah Adil, a spokesman for the provincial police chief, said that the security forces prevented a car full of explosives from getting closer to the Dawlatabad police headquarters building, it was targeted by the Afghan forces and exploded around 50 meters away from the police HQ.

He added that the bombing has damaged parts of the headquarter building along with several nearby houses.

Jalil Qarizada, district governor, said at least four people were killed, including 3 civilians and one security force.
