The Afghan forces retaliated against Taliban attacks in northern Faryab and Badakhshan province, killing or wounding at least 19 militants.

The Special Operations Corps in a statement said the Taliban militants launched a coordinated attack on security posts in Dawlatbad district of Faryab province on Friday.

The statement further added that the security forces retaliated against the attack and killed 7 Taliban militants.

The security forces also wounded 11 Taliban militants during the clash, the Special Operations Corps said, adding that the security forces killed a Taliban militant during a separate clash in Orgu district of Badakhshan.

The Taliban group has not commented regarding the clashes so far.
